Real Talk Program
Those who are accepted into the program must attend weekly REAL TALK SESSIONS held on Thursday nights from 6pm until 8pm. As a condition of acceptance into the program we require that all long hair, dread locks, braids, etc., be immediately cut. We do not allow sagging pants, earrings, and caps on backwards or any negative images that are associated with our youth. Real talk sessions provides:
Increased understanding: The discussion needed to resolve conflict- expands people’s awareness of the situation, giving them an insight into how they can achieve their own goals without undermining those of other people.
Improved self-knowledge: Conflict pushes individuals to examine their goals in close detail, helping them understand the things that are most important to them, sharpening their focus, and enhancing their effectiveness.
Increased group cohesion: When conflict is resolved effectively, team members can develop stronger mutual respect, and a renewed faith in their ability to work together.

Disagreements in a relationship are not only normal but, if constructively resolved, actually strengthen the relationship. It is inevitable that there will be times of sadness, tension, or outright anger between you and your partner. The source of these problems may lie in unrealistic/unreasonable demands, unexplored expectations, or unresolved issues/behaviors in one partner or in the relationship. Resolving conflicts requires honesty, a willingness to consider your partner’s perspective even if you don’t fully understand it, and lots of communication.

In this workshop we will discuss topics such as better budgeting:
- Understand the fundamentals of personal budgeting;
- How to create a personal budget;
- Set attainable financial goals

Participants will understand that credit and debt can be effectively managed and that its proper use can enable individuals to reach their financial goals.
