Real Talk Program (RTP), founded in 2006 by Right Way, Wrong Way, Inc., CEO James H. Byrd, I., is the original program in Atlanta, Georgia which immediately adresses the needs and concerns of male youth in addition to transitioning them in the Rite of Passage, from "Boyhood to Manhood".
RTP is committed to developing self-sufficiency in our young people and preventing them from integrating into the Criminal Justice System.
Juvenile and Young Adult incarceration affects millions of teens annually. RTP has experienced tremendous success in making teens aware of the consequences of poor choices and decisions.
RTP is approved by Public Schools in Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Clayton, Gwinnett and Paulding Counties in addition to collaborating with each counties Superior and Juvenile Court System.
The program format involves an intensive two hour session once per week for twelve (12) weeks.
Historically, over 90% of the youth who attend eight or more sessions demonstrate a commitment to change.
RTP is committed to improving the academic performance of students in addition to transforming them via the 10 Step Rite of Passage which takes them from Boyhood to Manhood.
An additional component of RTP is the direct involvement and participation of the parents in a minimum of three (3) of the sessions.
