The purpose of this organization is to assist offenders in making a transition from prison and jail, back to society. The process of habilitation; HABILITATE: to make fit or capable {as for functioning in society} requires several components in order to be successful, all of which RWWW, INC., provide.
I consult with Court Officials, and inquire as to their position on a particular defendant. I explain to them to consider the defendant being placed in the REAL TALK PROGRAM as an alternative to incarceration. I have successfully recieved consideration for many defendants and to date have had only one (1) to re-offend.
Upon their release I assist them in obtaining employment, housing, transportation, identification, mental health/substance abuse treatment in addition to providing classes which have mandatory attendance requirements in, anger management, conflict resolution, problem solving, parenting, relationships and financial literacy. As a condition of acceptance into the program we require that all long hair, dread locks, braids, etc, be immediately cut. I do not allow sagging pants, earrings, caps on backwards or any of the negative images. I ask the Courts for the maximum number of Community Services hours allowed, mandate that each defendant attend a church of his choice as well as nightly curfews. Each defendant is also mandated to attend the weekly REAL TALK SESSIONS held on Thursday nights from 6pm until 8pm. TheTEN STEP RITES OF PASSAGE is also facilitated at these sessions.
Fees are agreed upon after acceptance into the program.
